Hi beautiful people,
I know it may not seem like it at the moment, but summer is just around the corner. With this weekend forecast, I’m sure you are all starting to come up with plans for how to enjoy this amazing weather.
London is expensive! I know It’d be great to go shopping on Regent Street or even hop on the train to Brighton, but all of those things cost money. So here is a list of 5 cheap/free activities for a sunny day in London.
One thing that London has, is an abundance of great parks. Hyde Park is one of the greatest city parks in the world like NY has Central Park, London has Hyde Park. Despite being one of the largest parks in central London, and one of the Royal Parks of London, it is famous for its Speakers’ Corner, lakes, birds, trees, etc. Pretty sure you will enjoy a boat ride or feeding the birds.
ST JAMES’S PARK
The park lies at the southernmost tip of the St James’s area. It was named after a hospital dedicated to St James the Less. King James kept a collection of animals in the park. They included camels, crocodiles, and an elephant. (cheeky no?) . In the 1820s, the park got another great makeover. It was remodeled in the new naturalistic style. Now, it has London’s Zoo, Gardens, and landscapes, Lady Di Memorial Walk, monuments, and fountains.
Once the private gardens of Kensington Palace, are among the Royal Parks of London. The gardens are shared by the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and sit immediately to the west of Hyde Park. If you are lucky enough maybe you can see the Prince or the Queen around, cause currently, the palace is the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Other residents include Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Duke, and Duchess of Kent and Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
You can find the links for the parks below, and all their activities for 2019. Have a lovely weekend and Happy Easter 🙂
