Interview with 4th + Main – Chase McDaniel

Hi beautiful people,

Today I have a  brand new interview with an amazing artist, and that is Chase McDaniel. Chase is a vocal singer of the 4th + Main band. He is from Campbellsville/Greensburg, Kentucky, and lives now in Nashville, Tennessee, where he plays with his band. The 4th + Main is high – energy band who establish themselves in the country music, all over the world. The members are Chase McDaniel, Randy Austin, Chris Chavez, and Blake Whitlock.

I had the pleasure of talking with Chase about his hobbies and music career. Let’s see what he had to say! Also, find their music on the link below.

Andreea: When and why did you start playing?
Chase: I got my first guitar and began writing songs when I was about 16. I began singing a little before that. It was an escape from the world. I holed up in my bedroom and would practice for hours every day. No one ever told me to write songs that were just the first thing I did.

Andreea: Which instruments do you play?
Chase: Guitar, just enough chords on the piano to write songs. Oh, and the ukelele? However, you spell that…Jason Miraz guitar 🙂

Andreea: What was the first tune(s) you learned?
Chase: On guitar? The intro to Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Allison Krause. Played it non stop and thought I was amazing for it.

Andreea: What are the five things you can’t live without?
Chase: 5 things I can’t live without….hmmm. Well, I’m pretty good at surviving at a bare minimum but there are some things that improve my daily life. My circle of people that love me no matter what (family, friends), Laughing, Morning meditation (I have a history of anxiety and depression, meditating changed my life), Netflix/Hulu, Bush’s Baked Beans

Andreea: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?
Chase: Stop thinking.” I’m at my best when I’m out of my head and consumed the present moment.  It’s a dance with awareness and flow.

Andreea: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
Chase: I admire a lot of country greats for their style, (Josh Turner, Alabama, etc.) but I admire pop acts these days. I love lyrical honesty. I would love to bring that real-ness into the country format.

Andreea: Can you remember the first time you wrote a song?
Chase: On guitar? The intro to Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Allison Krause. Played it non stop and thought I was amazing for it.

Andreea: Do you ever get nervous?
Chase: I used to, now it’s more like an adrenaline rush. You hear that a lot. I still get nervous sometimes depending on the circumstance. I’d rather perform for a sold-out crowd than in a talent show, for example.

Andreea: What’s your favorite place to eat?
Chase: Ooohhh, idk. I love all foods. All the flavors. Except for cooked tomatoes. Never could, never will. I really like sushi? And any sushi place is fine. Haha

Andreea: Do you have any pets?
Chase: No, but I love Dogs, typically. But my roommate has a cat and it’s growing on me. Lol. Grew up with a German Shepard named Gracie. She died 2 years ago. It was heartbreaking.

Andreea: What’s your bad quality?
Chase: I have several but probably pushing people away when I’m down because it’s hard to be honest about how I feel. The more people I have around, the less of my reality I can control. But when I let people in is when I’m the happiest.

Andreea: If I was to turn on your iPod right now, what five artists/songs would I see on your recently played list?Chase: My iPod? That’s throwing it back!! Probably Usher, Justin Bieber, My Chemical Romance, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Second Hand Serenade. Haha, and of course a load of country stuff—Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Randy Travis, etc. I listened to it all.

Andreea: What is your favorite color of socks to wear?
Chase: Black, pretty sure that’s all I own. Lol

Andreea: What is the weirdest thing you ever did?
Chase: When I was in 3rd grade I farted in class really loud and blamed it on the kid beside me. Pretty sure he’s in jail now. His life’s spiral probably began there. Not really weird, but definitely worth thinking about. Haha.

Andreea: If you could be a billionaire for a day, what would you do?
Chase: Give it away to a bunch of people. Whoever is supposed to be taking the money back from me the next day wouldn’t know the people I gave it to. Use the rest to clean up the environment.

Andreea: Ten years from now you will be….
Chase: Last time I made a prediction I was wrong so I like to let the uncertainty of life unfold itself and move where it takes me 🙂

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and stay tuned for more.

Love,

A
